Annuminas...the big city! The High Kingdom!
Braeldia's brother, Master of Horse for the Riders of Rohan, had nudged her playfully when they'd first entered the gates, telling her to close her mouth lest she catch a wren and spit feathers!
Indeed, she had been gawking...she'd been away from home before, and honestly, this didn't compare to Gondor, but still, it was beautiful and amazing to the girl who spent a good deal of her time in the meadows and hills outside Rohan, and she was anxious to have a chance to explore.
But first things first...while Aidmon and their hands inspected the stables and got the horses settled, Braeldia was responsible for the human accommodations, and that had taken the better part of the day.
Now, as evening muted the lighting and cast shades of pink and orange over the buildings, she was finally free to roam about some. And, famished as she was, her goal was supper, and a tavern, specifically the Broken Sword Inn, a place that had been recommended. Sure, Aidmon was going to chastise her for going out alone, but a scolding was a small price to pay for a chance to look around without the restrictions Big Brother was sure to put on her.
And secretly, she was hoping that perhaps she'd run into a certain Prince, with dreamy eyes and an infectious smile, who was rumored to be here...or out on a campaign, depending who you asked, but still, Braeldia wouldn't mind seeing Eomer again. It had been a while, his duties and assignment here as ambassador keeping him from Rohan, and although she knew there was no chance for them to have anything more than a friendship, she couldn't help but court silly notions of something much more than the chaste kisses they'd shared.
As she stepped into the tavern, she hesitated. It wasn't the first she'd been in, but the first alone, and she knew to look confident, even if she was a little uncertain. And really, she didn't expect any real trouble, so long as she paid attention to what was going on. Sauntering across the room, she found a table near the back where she settled, then waited for the waitress.
