"I don't understand. You're immortal. You're stronger and faster than any Man could ever hope to be. You're beautiful--"
Adanedhel sighed and looked down at his boots. What was there to say? What could he honestly do to make her realize? This is hopeless.., his mind screamed. Why? Why out of everyone in Arda did his heart choose her? He heard her groan, saw her bury her face in her hands. He didn’t wish to see her this way. So.. miserable. She was miserable because he told her and now he knew that it was all wrong.
What is there to understand..? Ah, now she says it. ”Anyway. And I'm just...nothing." Adan’s eyes looked up at her now, seeing why she was acting this way. She didn’t think she deserved it. Somehow, she thought she was nothing and to Adan, that was far from the truth. You are more than nothing, Wyn. If you think looks are everything, then you are sadly mistaken. I see your soul and I know how beautiful it is. I do not care if you are not immortal. I care not if you think you have only so many years left and somehow that is supposed to make me run.
Adanedhel just shook his head and buried it in his legs as they pulled up. He couldn’t help but to feel totally helpless in this situation. "I don't understand, how someone like you could feel that way about someone like me." I..I really do not understand myself, other than I just feel this way. I feel it so deeply and I have been hiding it, afraid that you would run. I know you most likely wish to. Adanedhel let out a small laugh. I would as well. Why would anyone want an elf if they were mortal? He would live years after her passing if grief did not take him. And then, what then? If they ever had children (if they even got that far) he would look after them and then what? Go to Valinor with his Naneth and Adar? A deep sigh escaped his lips. It was all too much.
What was he to do now? What could he say to make her realize? You see yourself as someone worthless, but I see the opposite. I see someone worthy of my friendship, my love. You are brave, strong, and have a caring soul even if you are very stubborn and set in your ways. If I could, I would give up this immortality, but I cannot. I would give it all away, Wyn. Adanedhel looked back up, quickly trying to calm himself down. What was he doing? He was going to loose her friendship and not even gain her love. He needed to backtrack, for he could live without her affections. (or at least try!) He could do this and go back home to his family. Perhaps then, he would be married and bound to Odothel. Perhaps that would cure it and Wyn could be happy with going back to Nurn without an elf that was lovesick. Forgive me, Wyn. I shouldn’t have said anything..
