”There are reasons Legolas, that I forbade Tauriel from you. Reasons beyond your knowledge and yet you...still knowing I forbade her, went and asked for Eru's blessings and bedded her."
I care not for the reasons, for my heart belongs to her and always will. Stubborn was he, the son of Thranduil. He would even defy death and come back just to be with Tauriel. His father seemed to almost loose it and Legolas kept himself close to his new bride. He was not going to let his father send her away. No matter what happened, they would stay together.
”My lord, I wish to remain at my husband's side and before your grace as your ever faithful servant and your daughter. All my life my Lord, it was you that raised me alongside Legolas. All that I am...that Legolas loves most is made from your hands.”
The moment Tauriel said this was the moment his father’s face changed to what it really was. One eye was pure white like milk and his face on the same side was burned and torn. Legolas had only seen it a few times, for his father was vain and did not wish for anyone to see it.
”Would you walk through Dragon fire for her Legolas, as I walked through it for your mother"
The thought of his mother made Legolas feel incredibly sad. He remembered that day very clearly and he glared up at his father with tears brimming his eyes. How dare you? How dare you sit here and bring her up now?! Do you think my mother would approve with how you’re acting?! Do you think she would let you sit there and treat me this way?! All these years I had wanted a family; love. You gave me nothing. He looked to Tauriel then, smiling a sad yet happy smile. I found what I needed most and that was Tauriel. I would die for her.
Thranduil though, was speaking once more. A chilling voice was set and Legolas looked up at the elf he called father. ”You are not fit to be his bride, daughter Feanor's bloodline. The same taint runs through your veins. I have seen them in you" Feanor’s bloodline? The kinslayers? That explains Tauriel’s quick temper, but Legolas knew she wouldn’t ever kill him or any potential children. She was gentle, kind. He had seen both the good and bad in her.
”I am just a lowly sylvan elf that your son has found in his heart and soul to love my lord...Nothing more or less...you have always said--"
You are not lowly. Legolas retorted back at her before listening to his father again.
”That is the reason I forbade her...the blood of kinslayers flows through her veins. Too quick a temper, too much fire in her. Hearing this, you still want this wife?"
There want no doubt about it. Legolas just stared at him, directly in his eyes and said, Yes. I still want her.
