Well that was quick, thought Garth. He was sure this whole debt thing was going to last a lot longer. Normally when one makes such a vow the debt would stay up in the air for years. Then when one is nice and comfortable in like the person would return and request that they do something crazy. However the guy can not refuse because it is a life debt and thus there life is thrown into confusion. Well that was how all of the stories go. Garth did not expect it to be something so grand, but he did expect it to be something later. Still the quicker he cleared his book the better right. Better than being a old man ready to retire and then being called back into the game for one last crazy mission that will most definitely get him killed.
"Alright then Madame Braelida Hjorth. Allow me to escort you to the tavern, but I am buying. After all you aided me, not the other way around. The one who should be buying the drinks and food should be I." Gwathion then shook his coin purse. The sound of jingling coins made it clear that he was not a complete peasant. "As you can see I have not squandered all of my earnings yet."
What was more important to Garth however was this job she was talking about. There was a chance it could be a repeat job, and if that was the case he could get steady work. If not this could be his chance to make a name for himself in the capital. A mercenaries name went a long way. It could open doors for him. That meant he needed to do whatever task she assigned him right. No doubt she would tell her important brother, who seemed to grab the guards attention, about the entire ordeal. He surely had coin and possibly the need for a hired blade. This could be his chance.
