Galadriel wished that she could say that her insomnia was infrequent. But the sad truth was that it happened far too often. And usually she could tell precisely why she couldn't sleep. But tonight, it was mostly something lurking in her mind, unsettling, wordless, and there but just out of her reach. As she lay in the arms of her husband, there was almost times that she could almost figure out before it escaped her mental grasp. She let out a long breath before gently untangling herself from the warm, loving cocoon of her husband's embrace, careful to not disturb him. She watched him a moment to make sure he settled back down in sleep before she slipped on a dress and headed out of their talan.
Her bare feet made no noise as they carried her towards the center of Caras Galadhon. She briefly considered going to her Mirror but she just as quickly dismissed that thought. She didn't need to see the future, the future she could not be certain of and was more likely than to disturb the peace of her mind even more. She could see her people give her wide berth, not wanting to bother their Lady apparently. And while she appreciated it, at the same time she yearned for...For what? Peace in Middle Earth? There was little she could do about that, beyond what little she was currently doing to oppose Sauron.
A warm bed shared with her husband? She had just left that and while she would love to be back in the arms of her beloved, she wasn't sure she could keep still and not bother him. She gave a long exhale and wandered the nearly empty paths of Caras Galadhon, passing by a few guards here and there, all of whom nodded respectfully as she wandered past them. She was silent in her steps and her fingers were ghosting over the bark of the trees as she passed them. Her mind was unsettled and she was disturbed that she could not figure out why. Perhaps some brave soul would try and interact with her, and perhaps bring some sort of answers to her, or at the very least peace.
