The Autumn air began to cool, the darkness sheltering its children from the sun above, the trees continued to sway in the breeze. What few leaves remained were torn from their branches and cast out to the earth below, collecting upon one another they created a technicolor floor of oranges, browns, and even yellows. Beriedir chuckled as he continued about his task, his eyes flickering down from Alagoniel to the scrabbled parchment he couldn't read. "Well that all depends on what you need" Beriedir replied, though it was obvious by his tone his mind was elsewhere.
His eyes remained affixed to the parchment, rumpled, weather, and slightly stained with what looked to be blood. "I recognize one of the names here" he exclaimed quickly, his right index finger placed on one of the orcish names. "I need more light" Beriedir spoke as he quickly made his way towards the campfire the orcs had been so jolly around just a few moments earlier.
The fire hissed and crackled, the flames dancing like a maiden, the ranger could feel the warmth pressed against his face, a warmth against his soul. He sat himself down on a log maybe three feet away from the fire, struggling to see the note in the light. That ever familiar scent of smoke wafted itself to his nose, filling his senses, if he closed his eyes he could be anywhere else but here. The ranger let out a sigh before closing his eyes and quickly opening them. Names, times, crude tasks, as well as what appeared to be locations, but Beriedir did not recognize them.
"Norsko the Flayer...a Captain of Minas Morgul...he's made quite a name for himself here in the South" he said aloud, a smile quickly returning to his face as he looked up at Alagoniel. He handed her the parchment to look for herself, "3rd horn shipwreck on the river" Beriedir added quickly "That's the river Anduin I'd wager, and I followed the river in, and I didn't see a shipwreck...might be worth checking out" he added as he raised both his hands up closer to the fire. He rubbed them together and let out a laugh.
"You have any meat we could roast?" the ranger genuinely asked, looking up at Alagoniel like a lost puppy. "I'd take some of theirs, but I'm not sure if its man meat or not" he added with a smirk.
The wind began to pick up once more, howling against the night sky, the flames bucked in its wake, glowing embers lifting up into the darkness like a flight of fireflies. For all that it was, there was still some peace, some beauty to be found in the woods of Ithilien. "South would be a good bet. I'd also wager there's a shipwreck there. Of course if go too far South we can always stop by and see my brother. You two would get along perfectly. You could have scowling contests and everything". An even bigger grin than usual crept against Beriedir's face, genuine in nature, he found joy in teasing Alagoniel, for underneath all that grumpy, scowly, fur cover attitude was probably a decent person...or a warg with a tooth ache.
"You're the one looking for something. i'm just here to take note of what the orcs are up, where they are, and if they're up to anything important...maybe kill some orcs along the way" he replied, still grinning, it was up to Alagoniel, she was the boss right now, and part of that was because she was kind of scary. "Of course we could just sit here and get toasted on some wine, just throwing that out there" he quickly added.
