And in that moment, she was gone.
Gone.
Elrohir did not know what to think as he watch her leave Imaldris, seeing her with a tear-streak face and hands shaking as she held her reins. He did not know what to say as she never looked back and rode out of the gates and out of his life.
Gone.
Elrohir looked at the ring that was still on his finger, Golden and brand new. He did wrong, didn’t he? What he wished to have he could not win. Was his dream actually a vision after all? Was she to marry the fair haired prince of Mirkwood? Anger replaced sorrow as he took the ring off and held it in his hand. Ruivo had once mentioned Legolas and his feelings for Tauriel. Elrohir knew all too well what Legolas thought about the red haired elleth.
He would not give up, no matter what. This much Elrohir knew. He spun on his heels and went back to his chambers, hearing whispers about what might have happened. Rumors were always rumors, but some of them had bits of truth. What stung worse? Elrohir wondered. Was it the fact that Eru would not bless them? Or was it the fact that she was racing back to her golden prince? The thought left him sick as tears fell from his face.
Damn.
He really did love that little elleth.
His heart was torn and thrown away. Now what was left was a reminder of how things did not work, how Ruivo would tell Elrohir how he was right while Elrohir was wrong, and how he was alone without Tauriel. Sure, he had Elladan. Elladan would always come for comfort when his other twin had hurts, but not even Dan could cure this.
I will not give up on us.. No matter what.
Elrohir placed his wedding band on his nightstand, right next to Tauriel’s. A sigh escaped his lips and soon more tears fell. Damn. Damn the gods! What was this sick twisted fate? Was she really meant for Legolas?
Could she really be meant for such a weakling prince?
Thranduil’s son had nothing compared to the twin sons of Elrond. Perhaps he was pretty, broad shouldered, and had Thranduil’s blue eyes. But he was not strong like Elrohir, intelligent like Elrohir, and brave like him. He wasn’t as outgoing either. The prince seemed a little timid and he knew that it would get him nowhere with Tauriel. Perhaps the vision was wrong. Legolas would never be bold enough to ever take his Tauriel away.
Because, after all, they were still married...
