History:
Landroval was a vassal under Thorondor in the First Age and fought the forces of Morgoth when it was required of him. Landroval claims that it was he who bore Lüthien on his back when she and Beren were saved by the Eagles from Angband, a given that has caused him to be utterly reluctant to bear anyone else on his back and taking those who need flight with his talons. During the Second Age, Landroval took a spouse of his own and remained more near the eyries of his people to be more near his wife and children, who he was overprotective of for even the standards of the great Eagles. Landroval was one of the eagles that helped save Thorin & Company, taking one of the dwarves within his talons. Afterwards, Landroval and his spouse participated in the Battle of the Five Armies, in which his spouse perished by the bows of the goblins when she became separated from the rest of the eagles in the heat of battle. When Landroval learned of this after the battle, Landroval remained away from the eyries for 2 months until he was certain that he had hunted down every goblin that still dared to remain above ground. Ever since that day, Landroval has been one of the most vocal eagles in hunting down the servants of the enemy and aiding the Free-Folk of Middle-earth.
