.The Facade.
Character Name: Bardhyl
Name Meaning: The White Star
Age:3000
Date of Birth: Year Ten of the Third Age
Race: Avarian Elf
Residence: Far East of Rhûn
Profession: Scholar
Appearance: White hair, pale complexion, Bardhyl looks almost like a spirit, himself. He has blue eyes that would remind you of the sky. Normally he wears simple robes, mostly of white though he wears grays or silver on occasion. He is well over six foot, even without boots. He is lithe and strong, always the least tired of others. There is always someone with him; either an elfling or his wife, they are never too far from him!
Personality: Being a scholar, Bardhyl has a natural affinity for information, logic, and learning. He absorbs and integrates information from the world around them. People, animals, places, he studies them all. He is an introvert yet an extrovert. Bardhyl normally stays in a room, continuously studying yet leaves it to find more things to learn from others. Word of mouth was a key to learning and he used it to his advantage. Then there was always just watching. Bardhyl is quiet yet talkative, a thinker and sometimes not a doer.
Being so focused on information and its logical implications means that he is naturally introspective and contemplative. Bardhyl likes to have time alone to fully process experiences and observations internally, before trying to articulate his thoughts. He can get angry. Anyone who disrupts his peace or harms his family will finally see his wrath.
Parents: Mother: Afërdita
Father: Kushtim
Sibling(s): Sister: Elira (Kelet)
Spouse: Valdete
Children: Daughter: Afërdita (Named after Bardhyl’s Mother)
Sons: Ilir and Dritan.
History: The days of Bardhyl’s youth were fairly simple. Afërdita and his father decided to search for the sea. With the numbers of their people decreasing, they had decided it would be best to leave all behind. Bardhyl worried, wondering if this river was real and if they would ever see their people again.
Miles and miles they had continued onward, searching for the river and the way out of the desert. It was hot, humid, and somehow dry all at the same time. Bardhyl was tired, hungry, and did not wish to continue on with the long road of mindlessly searching for a river that obviously did not exist. His father though, made them continue onward.
As years went by and when Bardhyl became of age, he decided that now he would leave. His mother and father were speaking of having another elfling again sometime and mentioned that they would name her Elira if it were a girl. Bardhyl knew that now they wouldn’t need him. He decided to not say goodbye to them, leaving them at a time where they were asleep. Bardhyl went back on the path back home, traveling as fast as he could. The road was long, he even passed out in the desert for some time.
When he woke up, he saw her. She was as beautiful as the stars above and his heart filled with love immediately. Valdete, the elf-maiden that he always knew and always wanted a chance with. As she took him back home with the other Avari, she fed him, clothed him, and took him in when no one else could.
The two eventually married, enjoying their lives together in peace. Bardhyl by this time had already started his studies, becoming a scholar of their land. He was always constantly reading or something, but Valdete had other plans.
In a year, their daughter was born. Bardhyl had been thinking hard about his Meme, wondering if she was alright in the desert. He was feeling guilt, but she had his father did she not? With the guilt he asked his wife if it was possible to name their elfling after his Meme and Valdete agreed on the idea, knowing his Meme and loving the name and her as much as he.
As their little girl got older and older, Bardhyl played the role as father excellent while still managing to do his studies and take care of his wife. She was with child again and it seemed as if this one would be a male. When the year passed, their daughter at this time was well grown, Ilir was born.
Time had flown by fast. Easterling’s came and went. Some of their people died, some were captured. Bardhyl though, protected his family as much as he could. His wife is expecting another elfling and he could not afford to loose him. Dritan will be his name, for they had picked it out before he was ever willed into being. But now it was time to wander and worry. Elira was out there somewhere if his parents even had her and so was his Meme and Father.
With a heavy heart, Bardhyl knew he had a year before their new son would be born. With the other two children fully grown and well over age, they could take care of their Meme while he searched for the rest of their family.
