Valdete stands at about 6ft 3inches and weighs approximately a 135 pounds. She is lithe and graceful as taught by her mother. She has long auburn hair with a slight curl to it that extends well past her shoulders in which she occasionally curls for formal occasions. She has dark brown almond shaped eyes framed by thin sharp eyebrows and a slender nose. Full pink lips finish off the features of her slender face.
She often dresses in plain garments like tunics and a pair of leggings when in the middle of her craft and isn’t afraid to get dirty, however she cleans up rather nicely and isn’t afraid to wear nicer clothes. While traveling she prefers practicality over tradition and will even wear male pants for ease of use and comfort.

Refined and graceful, Valdete is a woman of all the right words and a polite demeanor. Her ability to easily speak to crowds and somehow weave parts of herself into every word is uncanny. A silver tongue and quick wit create a duo of unquestionable authority that may be hard to combat. Confidence runs through her veins, her head almost always held high as her delicate mannerisms stream lightly from her mouth.
However, honesty to the point of brutality is one of her many flaws, flaws she attempts to keep hidden. This honesty usually draws others closer or pushes them away. Not impervious to other’s actions, Val can be naive and put trust in those who aren't worthy of it and reluctant to give it to those who are. It’s as if some ancient creature has gifted her with the knowledge and wisdom she possesses.
Valdete is a compassionate being, filled with love and a burning passion for anything she sets her mind too. However, she is can also be insecure about trying new things and often finds herself bothersome. Like the celestial beings that shine so brightly from the heavens, every action is filled with an intense desire to fulfill her ambitions.
As Val has grown, she has experienced many things that have added a new light to her personality. Betrayal, loss, and hardship have hardened her. Trust is a much harder thing to attain and deceiving her is a foolish endeavor. Her tongue has grown sharp, her eyes always alert and her heart closed off to those she does not know. Kindness rolls off her in waves, but those who take advantage of it will suffer her wrath. Love is almost foreign, but those she has already given it, will never stop receiving it.

Born the only child to Thangurdir and Merileth, Valdete was a much celebrated and welcomed addition to her family. Raised by a Captain and musician, her parents initially tried to steer their daughter towards peaceful pursuits such as singing or playing instruments.
Her talent and knack for archery became apparent after a heated argument one day with another elfling which set Val out to prove to her friend that she was not, in fact, "helpless". Her father stood witness to the contest of wills and, though her technique was lacking due to inexperience and little instruction, he was surprised by his daughter's raw ability. He opted to gift her with her first bow shortly after and taught her whenever time permitted. Still, Val was far from a trained fighter and would continue to occupy her time with placid pursuits for many, many years to come.
For the greater majority of her life, she enjoyed relative peace, the company of her family, and an assortment of friends. It would not be until nearly half a century ago that her world would come crashing down. It was a typical day, and she had seen her father off at daybreak. By midday, there was word spreading that a band of orcs had caused a disturbance. No one could tell her exactly where then. Naive and thinking her father indestructible, it never crossed her mind that he would fall. When word came of the deceased, Merileth and Valdete were hit hard by the news. Younger and slightly more resilient, Val was able to eventually function after the emotional blow. Her mother, however, never recovered and continues to grow weaker; her only reason for living being her daughter at this point.
After the recovery of her father's sword, Laigrist, Val made the decision to become a scout in memory of him. She figured that a grieving heart would keep her from ever having a family of her own anyway and fighting would keep the sadness at bay. Thus, she focused entirely upon combat and honing rusty skills her father had once acknowledged. For countless years she has stood watch over her people and mother.
That is until she met him. She found Bardhyl unconscious and brought him back home to care for him, worried he might have been ill or starving. Over time as they traveled together they eventually got married, a moment she never thought would happen. Her husband became a scholar and she continued to be a scout/explorer.
Soon they had a few children over the years, first their daughter who they named after Bardhyl's mother and then their son Ilir. Valdete loved her children and tried to be the best mother to them as possible, telling them stories of their grandfather that she remembered from her youth. Raising her young ones, she continued her work as a scout though she had definitely grown more cautious over the years.
Years went by and times began to change, some of their kind captured or killed but they survived. Valdete soon was expecting their third child, but Bard wanted to find his mother and sister and soon went out searching for them. Even though Val had her two grown children to keep her company she wanted to go after her husband, so she did.
