.The Facade.
Character Name: Calon
Name Meaning: The sparrow-hawk bird.
Age: 21
Date of Birth: December 7th, 2989
Race: Man
Residence: Minas Tirith, Gondor.
Profession: Stablehand.
Appearance: Calon is a handsome young man, with bright ocean colored eyes and a soft smile. He is tall, around six foot three, and has a strong build from his years working with horses. He has curly brown hair, and light facial hair that he is not quite sure whether he wants to keep growing out or not.
He is not poor, but he is not exceedingly wealthy, and the clothes he wears reflect on such a status. He will spend great care with his appearance when need be, but generally does not go out of his way to impress others. He also has been told multiple times that he looks a bit older than he is, though Calon brightly disagrees with such assessments, and does not seem to agree himself.
He prides himself on manliness, being fond of hunting and the like. This also reflects in his clothing, in that he loathes formal affairs.
Personality: Calon is a bit wild and playful, with a sweet and gentle smile and a heart of gold. However, he always seems to keep his image clean, and in truth, does nothing to disgrace his father’s name. Calon is always thirsty for new knowledge, new ideas and above all else, new adventure. He is fond of a good drink, and can often be found laughing away with a few of the guys, ale in hand. He generally does not over indulge, though, and will rarely get deep enough to be considered drunk.
Calon has always loved the outdoors, and thus his favorite things to do include horseback riding and hunting. From a young age, Calon had been fascinated with archery, but since he did not have the mind to take the skill to the army, he decided instead to learn to ride and care for horses so he could go hunting. He and his older brother oftentimes would take their horses out to the woods to camp while they sought some sort of prize to bring home.

History: Calon was the second born, and last child of Istor and Arobes. Istor was a blacksmith, and Arobes a healer. The family was a strong one, and Calon and his older brother were well cared for. Sometimes, when both of his parents could get time away from their duties, the family would travel to Minas Tirith to visit Istor’s father and mother, Tunir and Istien.
Istor and his brother, Baralin moved to Minas Tirith with them when they were young, but never found the enclosed city a home, so when they turned fifteen, respectfully, they returned to Belfalas to live with their uncle.
Unlike his father, Calon found life more exciting outside of the coastline, and relished the short trips that he took to go hunting with his elder brother. It wasn’t that he hated it where he was, he just felt as if there was more he needed to see, so when a letter came from Tunir saying that he needed help keeping house in Minas Tirith, Calon jumped at the chance and moved there without question.
He had always loved horses, so applied to work as a stable hand, in the stables at the sixth tier, keeping his own horse in one of the lower ones. He takes regular days off to go hunting in the Firien Woods, and just ride bareback out in the Pelennor.
This proved to be most fortuitous for him, because the younger sister of the head of the stables was easily the most amazing woman he had ever had the pleasure to meet. It started out as chicken herding, and her lively personality made her the most memorable woman in the city. And then, by the hand of the Valar, they were set up on a blind date of sorts.
Faeldor had not intended for them to be such a perfect fit, because no sooner than did feelings begin to grow than did Calon learn he was not welcoming to the idea of a courtship.
This caused them to resort to sneaking around, though not in the manner Faeldor expected. He sent Narbeleth away to Belfalas, and forgot that Calon had ties there. He waited a space, asked for leave to visit family, and was granted it. His parents were a little distressed that he came back just to find Beleth, but as soon as he had managed to track her down, they eloped. Easily the biggest adventure of his life, and the best, Beleth and he will stand the test of time.
But, they’re going to have to go back to Minas Tirith and tell Faeldor, eventually, and he isn’t looking forward to that necessarily.
