Early in the morning, before the sun ever came up, Saeros was wide awake. He had a mission and he was going to see to it that it happened. With the dwarves being free and now the dragon dead, Saeros had heard the King’s call for all who can to fight along his side. There was one person who can fight along side him, someone that would replace his wife’s position and that was ”Adanedhel! Wake up!” Adanedhel’s eyes blinked in confusion as he stared up at his Adar. Adar? What time is it? Why are you waking me up so early?
”Today you need to rise early, for we have to train you! Our King has commanded that all who can fight along his side. We need to train you, for you have never fought against anything before.”
Adanedhel’s eyes widened in fear. He was going to make him fight? Fight along side him?! Adar, you know I do not care much for fighting.. ”You will do as I say! I care not what you like or dislike! This is for our people and this is for our land! Get up, now!” With that Adanedhel sighed and got up, quickly getting dressed. His father was always a demanding elf and he knew that there would be no way of stopping this.
So here they were now, training as the sun finally started to show. Adanedhel was trying his hardest, hoping to not get hit with his Adar’s blade. Spoken too soon! The younger elf got scratched by the blade on his right cheek, making him stop to wipe the blood off. ”You cannot stop fighting during a battle!! What do you think you’re doing?!”
Adar, I know not of how to fight like you do! How do you expect me to stay alive?!
Saeros, angry as ever, glared at his son. ”I don’t. I don’t expect any of us to stay alive, but we must fight for our King.” Why was his son so stubborn? Why couldn’t he just listen to him and behave? Why did the Valar send him a son who did not even enjoy bloodshed like he did? Saeros was not happy with this child; he had never been. Adanedhel was always coddled and hid behind his Naneth in order to not do the things Saeros wished him to do. This thing, his blood, was more like an elleth than an ellon. He needed to grow up and be the elf he needed to be. Even his stance was all wrong! How could this child of his be this ignorant about fighting?!
”Amarië”, Saeros thought to himself. She was the reason why. She never picked up hler bow or sword because of this child and never will. It was all because of her wanting this thing and now she wouldn’t even teach it how to fight with a sword!!! Well, Saeros will fix that! He will train this elf child until he bled out. Then perhaps Amarië will never ask again about having an elfling.
