.The Facade.
Character Name: Galadion
Name Meaning: Son of Radiance
Age: 20
Date of Birth: 3rd of Narbaleth, 2990 TA
Race: Man, Pure-blooded Dunedain
Residence: Rivendell
Profession: Ranger of the North | Currently travelling/freelancing.
Appearance: Even at his age, Galadion's features are almost what's to be expected of a pure-blooded Dunedain. He is youthful in appearance, and maintains his long, dark hair at his shoulders whenever he's not out in the wild. More often than not referred to as a 'boy' by his peers, Galadion still stands at a solid six feet in height, with an athletic build to go along with it. Usually he can be seen wearing elven-styled shirt and pants, although his leather jacket is uniquely Gondorian in style. When out on the road, a hooded-cloak is worn over his clothes along with his sword at his hip and his bow on his back.
Personality: Galadion is a handsome young man who exudes confidence and a sense of honor to go along with it. He's pure-blooded Dunedain, and this fact has been drilled into his mind since he could first comprehend language. That being said, he doesn't let his heritage cloud his judgement or fill his head with too much pride. The full weight of his people's situation balances out what pride he has, especially with him living so close to the former lands of Arnor.
Having lived in Rivendell for the entirety of his life, some are surprised that the young Dunedain has wished on several occasions to visit the lands to the south and east. Thankfully he's equally as talented with the bow as he's with a sword, but the dangers that lurk outside of Rivendell don't fright him in the slightest. Well, perhaps a Cave troll might, but usually he's more likely to fight than to run from a threat. If innocents are involved, he's not the type of person to stand by idle and watch, but that headstrong mentality has gotten him in a bind on more than one occasion.
.The Blood.
Parents:
Father - Túrion [81]
Mother - Silevrenil [75]
History: Galadion was born in 2990 TA, the one and only child of Túrion and Silevrenil, two pure-blooded Dunedain of noble stock. His birth was quite the miracle, especially since his parents had failed to conceive children for many years until then. He was lucky enough to be born and raised in Rivendell, away from the dangers that plagued the former lands of Arnor. His early life was calm and peaceful, his main focus being his studies whilst living in Rivendell. His father, Túrion, was away for the majority of this time. He and his troop of Rangers would come and go from Rivendell, only remaining within the city for a few days before heading back into the wilds once again.
His mother explained the duties of his father in detail when a young Galadion finally questioned her of his father's absence, and with it would come a further understanding of his people's situation. He'd soon be studying with the finest martial instructors Rivendell had to offer after deciding to follow in his father's footsteps. It wasn't as if he wanted to be closer to his father, but instead he was driven by a need for adventure and travel in his life. The sight of Rivendell was the only thing he'd seen since his conception, and the stories and tales of the lands further south and east were all too enticing to simply forget once he understood the adventurous lifestyle that his father and his men lived.
With all that in mind, Galadion would only wait till his early teens to reveal his ambitions to his mother, and later his father. The latter supported him while his mother was afraid of losing her soon to the dangers that lurked outside the safety of Rivendell. No matter the opinion of his parents, it was something he knew he had to do, especially if he were to see the world outside of his home. Galadion began his training soon after his decision, his father wasting no time in preparing his son for his eventual becoming of a Ranger. His training would encompass the vast majority of his remaining teen years and would even bring him outside of Rivendell.
Galadion would pass from teacher to teacher, each one specializing in a specific subject and teaching the young Dunedain to the best of their ability. Failure wasn't an option, and the son of Túrion was expected to do nothing less than succeed. He'd accompany senior Rangers on journeys far and wide, and soon he would truly understand just where and what his people had lost with the fall of Arnor. These adventures throughout the lands were accompanied with their fair share of danger, but it was nothing short of extra excitement for the Ranger-in-training.
It was only after his turning of twenty one years of age that his near a decade-long training would finally come to an end. He'd learned almost everything his tutors could teach him and felt as if he were ready to head out into the world on his own. His parents weren't as enthusiastic as him, but regardless, the young Ranger had the next several years to journey the lands before having to devote more time to the Rangers.
