Thranduil had given his permission for Tauriel to study the art of advanced elvish medicine under Lord Elrond. Tauriel had set out from The Greenwood seven days prior and after getting caught at the beginning of a snowstorm, coming down the mountain pass, she had made it to Imladris. Tauriel was not alone of course, how could she be. There was a small company of elves that had come for various reasons of their own but Tauriel had only one...well two reasons. To be here. The courtyard was filled with horses and Tauriel slid off the grey horse she rode.
Lindir, along with Erestor there to greet Elrond's guest, flanking them was Glorfindel who looked rather pleased with those who would be wintering at Imladris.
Tauriel gave a shake of her riding clothes, bridle in hand, to walk the horse to Elrond's stables as the commotion of elvish voices greeted kin and chattered. She had not spied Elrohir waiting with Erestor or Glorfindel, perhaps he was not yet here himself. He has asked for her to send word when she would be coming and she had. But he was not here to greet her. No matter, Tauriel was patient and could wait. Seeing first to her horse that he was taken care.
Lindir would find Tauriel when she exited the stables. "Tauriel, there you are. Let me help you get settled in...you will be staying all winter?"
"Yes, I will be staying all winter, I am going to be learning from Lord Elrond, to improve my healing skills." She said, slinging a travel bag over her shoulder.
"Thranduil's scribed letter said as much. He spoke very highly of you. You seek to have an impressive career in his service. To learn such healing arts" Tauriel lightly laughed, she was flattered by the idea.
"I only wish to make use to the abilities that Eru has given me" modest about herself.
They walked along side one another as Lindir lead her to a guest room. "Here we are. Dinner will be in the dining room, please dress for dinner. Lord Elrond likes his guests to enjoy dinner, there will be music and dancing...I am sure dinner here is not much different than in The Greenwood."
"Is Elorhir here?" She asked, when they stopped at the door of the room that was to be hers for the duration of her visit.
"No, Elrohir had to deliver a parcel to the Ford of Bruinen, but he will be back. Sometime during this evening. He left something inside for you."
The room to which she was afforded for the duration of her stay was quite lovely. To Tauriel's surprise, there was a dark blue dress laying on the bed with a note. The note that was a simple apology for not being there to greet her and that he wanted her to wear the blue dress to dinner, that it matched what he rode out wearing.
For once, Tauriel did not braid her hair for dinner, she left the long strands free with the deep blue dress that Elrohir had left for her. It would grow late and she was into her third goblet of wine and talking to a group of Rivendell elves when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. While music was playing and couples were dancing.
