History:
Gash history first begins with her true parents, two unnamed and unimportant Orcs who participated in a raid of a small village in Gondor. There band of orcs began attacking villages for both food and profit. One day however they were ambushed by Gondor soldiers and were killed to the last Orc. It was during this attack that Gash was born. A few minutes before the attack the female orc gave birth to her daughter Gash and then her and the rest of their band was put to the sword. The victorious Gondor soldiers discovered the baby and decided to leave it for dead, however fate would intervene. One of the members of the band was William Lowlander who was a man with a weak heart. When he returned home he told his wife about the raid and about the child they left behind. Something about the entire ordeal did not sit well with him and he needed to get it off his chest. Hearing about it his wife did the unthinkable, she left home and found the Orc child. The baby was half dead when she found it, but she took the child in and nursed it back to health.
Gash grew up as her mother's science project, though she had no idea of this fact her entire life. Her mother wanted to know if people or Orcs for that matter were born evil, or did they grow up to be evil. As a result she raised Gash, which she thought was a good Orc name, to be a good person. Her mother recorded everything about her down in her journal and watched her development like a hawk. It should be noted that William and the other villagers did not take to kind to the idea of a Orc being raised among them. Mis Lowlander however did not care and made that well known around town. She did however take precautions just in case Gash became evil. If she was ever to die the villagers had the right to slay the orc as they fit. However as long as she lived they had to at least tolerate the beast inside of the village. The deal was meet with mix feelings, but it was set in stone.
Gash grew up among humans. She spent her early childhood around her mother as none of the villagers wanted that thing to play with there children. In order to avoid this Miss Lowlander kept Gash around her all the time to prevent her from noticing the hatred in the hearts of the people around her. She would often play with her adopted brother Frank and study with her mother. Under her mother Gash learned to read and write and how to play music. She also learned the basics of religion and how to sew with a needle. Life for her pretty much stayed the same till she turned the age of seven. Her brother, Frank had grown up like a pariah due to his mother's choice to raise Gash and his playing with her as a child. This all changed during that time as Frank began to use his orc sister to his advantage. He would let the other boys bully young Gash and practice his sword play against her. This brutal treatment broke the little girls heart and caused her to cry to her mother. Determined to fix the problem Miss Lowlander confronted her husband and forced him to teach her how to fight. From this point on Gash life took a vastly different turn.
Studying under her father Gash learned how to wield a lance and how to use a shield. Of course she was not strong enough to defeat the boys at first, but over time she became skilled with both a stick and her verbal threats. One day the boys came in force to supplant the young orc. This march however ended in failure as Gash not only fought them off , but her brother finally grew a pair and helped defend his sister. This event started back up the age old argument about having a monster in the village as the boys ran home crying to there mothers. This however ended quickly as Lady Lowlander pointed out all the times her daughter came home bruised due to there playing.
As time passed on it came more and more difficult for Gash to live in the village. The locals had gotten use to her, but whenever a large company of soldiers entered the village she would have to leave or risk the threat of them storming the family home and killing the abomination. Eventually Gash saw the writing on the wall. Her studies in history had taught her how harsh people could be and it told her the eventual fate of her mother. Many women had burned alive as witches for much smaller offenses. Gash was not going to let that happen to her mother and as a result she packed her things and left home at the age of fourteen.
For the next two years Gash grew up in the wilds learning how to survive on her own. After a close encounter with a Gondor Ranger she decided it would be safer to move to the homeland of her people, mordor. She regretted that decision for the next four years of her life. The orc people were savage, ignorant, and down right disgusting. Still Gash made her home in the black lands and learned to live as a Orc. Combat and violence were common and her scholar view of the world was not widely accepted. Lucky for her she had a strong arm and a sturdy shield. Her knowledge of the past assisted her in dealing with every day problems of Mordor and her ability to read and write made her a essential member of any Orc community. Only she could read stolen human reports, or translate messages written by elves and dwarves. She could speak several different languages and her beauty was unmatched in the region. The only thing that matched her looks was the strength of her arm. Her spear had claimed the life of many would be husbands and envious female rivals.
Eventually however Gash had enough of Mordor. It was a land lost in the darkness and it was clear that her light could not bringing it out. She instead decided to devote her time and energy in finding individuals who would accept her for who she was and hopefully a Orc male who could be taught how to be a person and not just a brute.
