History:
Gwaithion was born into a family of soldiers. His father and mother were both soldiers serving Gondor. His father was a part of the army and his mother was a ranger. During her lifetime his mother had made a name for herself as a female ranger. Her skill with the blade and the bow attracted his father to her and eventually they got married. Even after she had three children she still served her nation as a stalwart ranger keeping a eye on the hordes of Mordor.
As a result of his mother's carrer choice Gwathion spent most of his childhood close to his father. His father taught both him and his sisters the ways of combat and trained Gawathion himself to be a fine soldier one day. During his youth Gwathion would play knights and orcs with his friends during the day and train with his father at night. His skill with the blade was descent, but he excelled with the axe, a unconventional weapon for a soldier of Gondor. None the less Gwathion trained hard and was soon on the path to becoming a fine soldier.
However once his fifteen birthday hit tragedy struck. His mother, who was out doing a mission for Gondor, was captured and killed buy a band of Orcs marauding across the country side. Gwathion was heartbroken at the news. Gwathion's father had a different reaction. He was enraged. He was angry that his wife was killed, angry that the other rangers allowed it to happen, and angry at himself for not being there to protect her. In his rage he saddled up on his horse with the rest of his squad and set out to avenge his wife. Gwathion, still heartbroken, begged his father to allow him to come. His father however refused stating that Gwathion was too young.
A week later Gwathion's father's patrol returned from the wilds without his father. From them he learned that his father had slew many of the beast, but was cut down by the orc chief, a Orc that was nicknamed The Grey Knight. He was called The Grey Knight because he wore Gondor armor. A mockery of his enemies as he cut them down on the battlefield with his powerful greatsword Hearing this news Gwathion was shattered. He blamed himself for not being there to defend his father.
With his father's death Gwathion's family was left broken. His uncle Gwath stepped in and took them into his home. He then began to teach the young soldier the ways of blacksmithing, but young Gwathion would not have it. His uncle wanted his nephew to be a craftsmen. A job that would remove him from the path of the warrior, Gwarthion wanted nothing more than to avenge his father. He would never stay home and never learn. He would often go out and find members of his father's old patrol and gain training from them, or practice on his own against a training dummy, however there was one thing that was clear, Gwathion was going to become a soldier.
At the age seventeen Gwathion joined the Gondor army. He faked his age and joined up a year early. The soldiers who knew ignored it and the burly physic of the boy tricked those who did not. As part of the military Gwathion was given a suit of armor. His Uncle, fearing for his life, upgraded it to the suit he wears now. When he first joined up Gwathion was given a spear and a shield. He returned the spear and kept the shield. In battle he wields a Halberd, forged by his uncle. The spear and axe combination was designed to crack open armor and prepare him for the day he faces The Grey Knight on the battlefield.
