History:
Short have been her days, and short has been her history.
Wilona was born in the springtime after a rather harsh winter; a twin brother kicking at her heels. She was as quiet and mild in temperament as he was feisty and and exuberant. Both a bundles of joy as sweet as honey in the eyes of their parents. Never one for rough and tumble play, she sat back and watched her brother at his antics as they grew. Though soon it was that she began to learn to shift; before she even knew what it was. Mostly by accident; when frightened, she would suddenly swap into the form of a small bear cup, and easily skitter up a tree, peering down, until her mother or father came to fetch her. Orvin had not the same inherent skill, and try as he might, has not yet been able to shift, though he still traipses along with his sister in the meadows; the leader, while she is the follower.
At times it came that she would be watched over by her grandparents, or others in the community, as her mother returned to her work as one of the patrol in the mountain passes. There was no understanding within Wilona when it came to be that both her parents were suddenly gone... forever. Still, she has not completely reconciled this fact, though it happened several months past, and she will wait for them on the edge of the meadow, even while her grandmother is calling here home. Upon the death of both her parents, Wilona has been tossed into confusion. While she loves her grandmum, Astrudr, who she has come to live with, she takes great some great fear in the stoic nature of her grandfather, Heard, and is often shy about the house and meadow when his grumbling groans are present.
