Ceolmund seemed to take in the description while Meludir followed him. Hopefully someone would know of Saeros and Amarië. If not Ceolmund perhaps his wife would know. She, after all, stayed in the city while he was on the plains. Perhaps asking Runa would have been better.
"Black hair is rare here.”
Mel nodded to that, looking worried. Of course. Everyone here looked to be golden of hair. There was no way Amarië would walk away out of sight. The thought of never finding them made Meludir sad, for he knew that their fate out there in Mordor was... wasn’t a happy ending. “Their names are curious...” Mel never said anything upon it, afraid that he would say the wrong thing and blow what cover he did have so far. The man before him believed he was of Man as well. He had to make that still believable.
"I should hope they are not lost within the grasses of the Mark. I can put a word out to the patrols. But what is this you say of birds?”
Thank you, Meludir said and realized the whole bird thing might have not been a good idea. Oh! Just she is able to communicate to them.. Like crows and such. Hopefully tie mentioning of crows would work. Meludir had read somewhere where some Men might be able to.
And here they were, at Ceol’s neighbor’s house. Mel waited by Ceol, hearing the woman from inside yelling. "Is it Theodred?” And who was that? Meludir’s expression though remained neutral as he waited.
As the door opened, Meludir watched as a fiery red head walked out, looking a bit unamused. A cat came out as well, brushing past his and Ceolmund’s ankles. "Captain Ceolmund, what can I do for you?" her eyes shifting to the pretty looking woman next to him. "Oh...your new wife?" Meludir’s eyes widened as he looked at her with disbelief.
New wife?!
Darelle was looking Mel over, making him a bit uneasy. He did not know why she was staring him over other than she thought him to be a “woman.” Her hand came then, wishing to shake his. "It's a pleasure to meet his new wife, You are so much prettier than the one he had before. Though I have not seen your face before. Are you from the countryside dear? I'm Darelle." Meludir blinked and looked embarrassed. He was mistaken for a woman! How could they think him to be such a thing?!
Fair of face, Meludir. You look nothing like the scruffy man beside you, he thought as he slowly shook Darelle’s hand. I believe you are mistaken, Darelle. Ceolmund is still with his lovely wife Runa. I am but a traveler passing though in search for friends.
