Quietly did Tauriel fidget with the golden band upon her finger, occasionally did her mind wander. She was trying to read a book, she was failing as the book held no interest for her. She’d glance up at Legolas, her head in his lap, stretched out across the bedroom floor, him sitting with his back to the wall. Her using his lap as a pillow. Both of them reading quietly. They were off duty, they had been for two weeks now and time seemed much longer than a mere few weeks of marriage. Silently did Tauriel observe her blonde husband as she looked up at him. “Are we really married?” she asked out loud, everything was still a haze. That they had gotten married, her voice was dreamy sounding as if she walked in a dream and was not sure any of this with Legolas was real. That at any point she might blink and wake up alone. Tauriel closed her own book. “Legolas” gentle was his name upon her tongue as she sought her prince’s attention. The Prince of Mirkwood was her husband...warmth swept across her cheeks.
She laid there against him in a dress of the forest’s grey winter bark and winters reply was the contrast to the grey, soft white. Laying with Legolas like this was almost like being an elfling again, except she felt no struggle. This moment with Legolas was permitted. All the dreams she had walked in and never told him of. Everything felt pure, whole and right. Just simply being together. Not expected to be anywhere, able to lay as she was against him and not an eye would be raised., Tauriel curled her legs closer to her body. The long gown was still foreign feeling to her legs. That too would come in time. “Seem lost in your book” Tauriel sighed out softly, a content sound creeping into her voice. These were happy days, Everything felt right, she had never felt closer to Legolas then she did at that moment. How much closer could they be? She looked like she wanted to say something else but no words came from her tongue. “Surreal still...knowing we are married” breathing out that them being married felt surreal to her “I feel as if I am walking in a dream, if I wrong, kiss me such to prove this is no dream”
