Fenion and Aradeth
Character Name: Fenion
Name Meaning: radiant one
Age: 3,060
Date of Birth: Winter, Year 3351 Second Age
Race: Elf
Residence: Imladris
Profession: A Bard, A Luthier (crafter of string instruments), and Flute maker.... also known as the Imladrim "Greeter" / Tra-la-la-lally elf
Appearance: Tall; standing at 6'11”, lithe, with blue eyes and brown hair. He dresses in the garb of his kin beneath the banner of Lord Elrond in Imladris, though when in the wilds he will dress as the Dunedain and go cloaked, changing even his walking gait, and hiding his hair and ears beneath cloth.
Personality:
Highly impulsive and quick to make rash decision, he often lets his emotions rule him before his mind tells him what is best; though some of his impulse has been stilled since his earlier days. He has a wanderlust concerning the Northern realms, and he can have little regard for his own safety. His words can come as sarcastic and biting if one did not know him; though he would be unlikely to use his sarcasm with someone whom he was not already acquainted; he is very likely to use it with those he knows.
Fenion is stealthy; able to move over ground or in tree unheard and unseen. This works well for his skill as a 'guard' of the hidden refuge of Imladris. Or as most would call him, a 'greeter', for he knows when people enter though he does little to defend the realm. It also has born well to his ability at eavesdropping over the years and much does he hear, which, depending upon the person and topic either dwell within the recesses of his memory; or make a great amusement for him to his compatriots.
Can be rather annoying at times, but he is loving and devoted to his wife and friends; even if he gives them a bit of sarcasm or a hard time.

History:
The Elflinghood of Fenion
Fenion was born in the months of deep snow, and named for the bright look on his face.
From his youth, he was also of bright temperament; lively and happy, with bounding energy. In his eyes was a spark like the inlaid diamonds. Growing in Imladris he was gifted the best education for it was there that most of the remaining High Elves dwelled; and he had for his teaching Elrond and Erestor, the libraries of Imladris at his disposal.
Glorfindel became Fenion's greatest mentor as time went on; for he had fought alongside his great grandsire, Ecthelion in the days of Gondolin; and had too seen the place where one goes when they are taken from life by Shadow and Flame.
How He Actually Came to Be Wed
Gondrendir departed with the Host of the Last Alliance in 3431 S.A. Fenion's Naneth despairing for the end of the world and what she thought would be the loss of her husband. Impulsive Fenion, not allowed to head into battle as well for his youthful age of only eighty years, was not pleased.
Determined to fight to his end, Fenion took up his sword, bow, and quiver, and began to head for the high pass a few days only behind the company of his Adar and Gil-galad, he was met at the gate by Aradeth, an elf maid who he had long met eyes with, though never spoken. Aradeth urged that he had not packed well for his venture, and bidding him wait for her to bring him something of subsistence to travel with, the afternoon passed into evening, then bidding him wait for the moon to rise, the evening passed into night; then finding it the night of a new moon and clouded sky, Fenion found that he would need to wait for the morning to depart.
He would not go back to the residence of his Naneth for her to cry and plead to him that he was yet young, and to stay; and thus journeying only a mile or two where the road was familiar to him in the dark, and where they were still safely within the realm and under the protection of Imladris; in the darkness Aradeth waited with him for dawn. One moment of voiced doubt by Fenion led Aradeth to take his hand, and the uncertainty of the future swayed their impulsive natures.
Fenion found himself on the very same day, fate decided, and after his impulse had taken him so far; he was asking for Eru's blessing in what was his now-marriage.
Returning home after the fall of Sauron in the south, Gil-galad lost in the fray, Gondrendir was neither amused nor pleased at his young son's actions, though what was done was done.
Since Then
Fenion considers himself a musician of the realm, a minstrel. And it is true that he bears a fair voice. Of all the things he is most proud of; it is his musical ability with the flute, which he is certain rivals that of his forefather, Ecthelion of the Fountain, of Gondolin, who would march into battle playing on the fife. Glorfindel would disagree with this pride and sentiment, though Fenion indeed has some skill, and he will play often in the great hall, around the fountains, or in the treetops, though it is the quiet affairs that do not humor him and he would rather avoid. He has solid skill over the years in crafting the fluted instruments as well as string instruments, as well as repairing them. Musical instruments are very precious to him.
An advice giver; he, along with his wife often, will entreat any who would listen to their words, including those entering the realm of Imladris. Not long ago he and Aradeth had great joy to sing down from the trees upon the band of thirteen dwarves and one hobbit which wandered through; and ever since they have been doing the same. They are quite keen on entreating with any and all races; elf, man, hobbit, and even dwarf.
