.The Facade.
Character Name: Astrid.
Name Meaning: Divine Beauty.
Age: 26.
Date of Birth: January 7th, 2984.
Race: Man.
Residence: Mobile, although the Dale is as close as she has to a home.
Profession: Scout and messenger.
Appearance: She has mid-back length brown hair and grey eyes. She wears mismatched armor and weapons (due to having to have repairs done and weapons replaced in various locations). Her bow was made in Rohan but her sword is of Gondorian design and she carries a Dwarven throwing axe. Her clothing and armor are frequently dirty from spending large amounts of time on the road.
Personality: Astrid is curious about seeing new places and people. Her boredom with life back in Dale has never completely left her and the thought of settling down frankly terrifies her. She still feels a little guilty about not being able to help her parents when they were killed but time has dulled that wound to a degree. When she's working she puts across the image of being all-business but she is capable of relaxing when the time is right. Astrid is used to being on her own for large amounts of time when on the road. Some folk say that her habit of talking to her horse is a little disconcerting.
.The Blood.
Parents: Sigurd and Signy.
Sibling(s): None.
Spouse: None.
Children: None.
History: Astrid was born outside of Lake Town, in a small farm on Dale's eastern border. Her father taught her how to defend herself and ride horses until she was 19. Astrid had traveled into Lake Town for supplies and was delayed by her horse losing a shoe on her way into Lake Town. With the delay, this caused Astrid was late returning to the farm. Her heart sunk as she saw the smoke rising from her home from a distance away.
Ignoring the urge to ride in as quickly as possible Astrid retreated a short distance and dismounted before heading back to the farm on foot, glad for the training her father had given her. When she reached the farm it was apparent that the raiders had moved on after burning the farm house and killing her parents. Any thought of riding off in search of revenge was balanced by the thought that she was unlikely to be able to defeat the raiders if she could even find them. Instead, Astrid buried her parents, gathered what supplies she could and decided to leave the area, heading past Lake Town and further away from home than she had ever been.
Over the next seven years, Astrid traveled widely, working as a scout occasionally but mostly carrying messages from place to place. She has seen more places than she could have imagined and amassed something of a reputation (she is seldom out of work) as she traveled.
