History: Azzyz Kadir was the eldest son of Chief Hakeem Kadir, a somewhat prominent Haradrim warlord of Harondor. As the first son, Azzyz was always secure in the knowledge that one day he would succeed his father. True that for the Haradrim, one first had to prove himself worthy, not only by his own account, but against all others who would stand in the way as well, however Azzyz was always one worthy of praise.
It was he who, at the age of eight, could already hurl a javelin, it was he who, while barely a teen, could already ride for a day and a night without a rest, truly he was a worthy heir, not only due to himself, but also due to the lack of competition. Azzyz did have a brother, however between him and Tamir, it was clear just who was in charge. Azzyz was the oldest, by far the strongest, and clearly the most authoritative of the two. In reality, during their childhood and extending to their teen years, what Azzyz said, Tamir would do - whether he liked it or not - for the eldest had the strength the youngest didn't. This was not to say however that Tamir was a weakling, the youngest did have the nimblest and most agile frame of the two, but when one is young and clumsy, this matters very little.
Azzyz spent his mid-late teen years with his father in battle, raiding and pillaging in Harondor. It was there that he gained a reputation for impulsiveness, allied to which came a certain tendency to unpredictability, his attacks were always unforeseen; powerful and swift, the combat brutal, but effective. He was undefeated by the time his father died, he had several concubines, his war trophies of sorts, all captured by battle and from which he had sired the first of his own sons when he was eighteen, truly everything was going his way, he was ready to succeed his father and it seemed such an easy task as well. For who would stand against him? Against Azzyz Kadir?
Azzyz, who had killed his first man when he was fifteen?
Azzyz, who had taken his first concubine when he was seventeen?
Azzyz, who had burned Harondor and Ithilien to the ground at his own will and accord?
The Scourge of Harondor, the men called him, truly there was no greater glory.
Until Azzyz, the Scourge of Harondor, was defeated.
And by whom? By none other than Tamir Kadir, his younger brother. It seemed that, while Azzyz was out raiding, Tamir had became quite proficient, deadly even, with a sword. He was agile, nimble, a shadow with a blade. Azzyz still tries to this day to forget how it happened, how his brother danced and twirled around him, how his muscles grew tired with every failed attack, and finally, that coup de gras, how Tamir had finally put an end to the match, stealing what Azzyz knew to be his birthright in the process. He was left laying unconscious on the dirt, and when he finally got up, he did so while listening to the men joyfully chanting his brother's name, the tables had turned, Tamir was his chief now.
The years that followed were bitter ones to swallow, for the situation was now reversed. What Tamir wanted, he delivered, when Tamir spoke, he held his tongue, and whatever Tamir ordered, he obeyed - whether he liked it or not - it was humiliating, and it was the situation that endured until the orcs first came down from the Black Lands of Mordor.
They came to demand the allegiance of Chief Tamir, however, much to Azzyz's chagrin and despite the historical proximity of the Haradrim to the Dark Lord, Tamir spat in their offer, proclaiming then and there his intents on getting the world rid of that pestilence named Sauron. Was the man such a fool as to support the Gondorian weaklings? Was he so stupid as to believe he could stand against the Dark Lord on his own? This was a doubt, it would seem, that Azzyz shared with much of his fellow tribesmen for that night a mutinee broke among the Haradrim. The mutinee quickly and brutally escalated into full combat and in the aftermath, even though Tamir managed to retain control, the tribe was split in two.
Those that followed Tamir, the great majority, went with their chieftain West, while those few that were against him and survived the bloody night chose to follow their own way, or better Sauron's way. And in this regard, who better to lead them on such a path than Azzyz Kadir, the Scourge of Harondor?
He was proclaimed chief of the band, the beginnings of his own tribe. His small numbers soon swelled in the times that followed, his reputation as a ruthless raider also going on its way to attract new fighters to his cause. He would follow his own path as chief from now on, in accordance with Sauron's will of course, and would someday bring vengeance on his brother for the slights and wrongs-doings he had done to him.
