.The Facade.
Character Name: Tathariel
Name Meaning: daughter of the willow
Age: 28
Date of Birth: fall of 2082
Race: Man
Residence: Minas Tirith
Profession: Apothecary
Appearance: Light hazel eyes, dark hair always plaited in one braid down her back. Wears simple linen dresses when in the city and tending the shop, but she much prefers the leathers she wears when ranging outside the walls for ingredients. Has a smattering of small scars on her hands and forearms, left by a slipped knife and more than a few encounters with thorny plants.
Personality: Introverted, slow to make bonds aside from her twin brother. While self-confident in her own skills, she doesn't know how to handle social situations. She leaves much of the talking to her brother when possible. To those few she does get close with, she is known as a loyal friend and honest to a fault. She keeps the things in her life very organized and hates if someone messes up her system. People who watch her work may think she's talking to herself, but she's actually talking to the plants.
Parents: Farwen & Maldir
Sibling(s): Tathren, identical twin brother
Spouse: none
Children: none
History: Tathariel is from a small town about a week's journey west of Minas Tirith, near Ethring. Raised there by their parents, she and her twin brother lived an ordinary common life as the children of farmers. As Tathariel grew, so did her sense of adventure. She began to join the hunters of her town on their trips into the wild. She didn't need a weapon to make herself useful, and plants held more interest for her than animals. Instead she learned about the plants and herbs that could not be easily grown in the farms and gardens of the townsfolk. She soon started a small side business of selling hard-to-find herbal ingredients and began experimenting with creating her own remedies and treatments from local plants.
Tathariel and Tathren grew to adulthood, and the passing years brought harder times upon their family. With a failing farm, their parents leaned on Tathariel as the family's only livelihood. Eventually the twins decided to move to Minas Tirith in hopes of creating a real business and making enough to support their parents. They set up a small shop in the market and are hoping this is the answer to their problems. This is where Tathariel stands: a small-town commoner in Minas Tirith for the first time with nothing but her brother and her knowledge to guide her.
