The time had almost come for him to set out on his journey to the south. Galadion had officially joined the Rangers of the North only a few months prior, his training finally reaching its completion after what felt like forevver. In truth it was closer to seven years, but such a time was nothing compared to many of the elder Dunedain and Elven-kind he grew up alongside. It was for these reasons that his bold plan of action was considered abrupt, or perhaps a bit foolish at first thought. He was just a pup in the eyes of most, after all. Galadion had seen the lands of Eriador for some time now, but never had he ventured past the Misty Mountains or close to the Rohan Gap before.
Even his father, who had supported him for the most part, was a bit more hesitant towards letting his son embark on such a grand quest by his lonesome. The negative talk and thinking of his peers eventually began to get to him after days upon days of hearing their opinions. It would eventually bring him to borrowing a horse and riding miles to the south of Rivendell in an effort to get away from those who wished to convince him otherwise. He didn't even bother to grab his cloak when he decided to leave, and the Dunedain was in full view as he rode hard and fast down a lone road.
A little more than a hour had passed when he finally brought his horse to a rest. He'd arrived at a clearing that he discovered on his first journey outside the walls. It was rather secluded from the rest of the world around it, although the scenic view of the glistening pond water beneath the sun made it all the more worth it to head there. He hopped off the side of the horse and let the animal roam free for the moment.
As for Galadion himself, the newly-recruited Ranger unhooked his belt -- with sword attached to it -- and sat it to his side as he sat cross-legged upon the ground. He stared out into the waters for a time, the occasional rock being skipped across its almost crystal clear surface. He grew tired of throwing rocks after a few minutes and laid back against the ground. "Rivendell.." The word was bittersweet as of recent. "This is something I have to...no-- something I want to do."
He clutched a hand into a fist, raising it towards the sun in the sky before bringing it back down to his chest. "I will leave you, for a time at least. Neither father, mother, or even Lord Elrond himself can stop me." With eyes closed shut, he'd enjoy the peacefulness for a time. Eventually he'd have to head back, but not for now. He'd let his parents sweat until he was good and ready to return.
