Dream sleep did not come to the young elf, so much that she found herself walking through the woods of Doriath, Mithiel was not alone, even if the girdle of Melian was safety. The wardens of the forest lurked camouflaged against trees, above in the canopy on telans which blended in. They guarded the borders of Menegroth and the woods. Alone she did not walk for they were there and at her side was Lord Aegnor, older brother of her Lady Galadriel. “Perhaps after some time you might come north to Dorthonion” the fair blonde lord next to her spoke, drawing Mithiel’s attention from the stream. The stream laughed softly in the night, bubbling over the rocks as fireflies dances in the reeds. Mithiel smoothed her dress and sat on the bank. “Dorthonion is far from here, it would be a long visit and your lady sister would be without my company ” Mithiel replied.
Winter wind danced through the trees. Cold but not frigid for the winters were milder in Doriath. Lord Aegor removed his cape and placed it on Mithiel’s shoulders, lowering himself to sit next to the handmaiden he had met. In Tirion, he had known her father Faelasso, a lesser lord from a noble family and painter in his grandfather’s court. Her mother was a Lady of Vanyar and Noldorian descent. He remembered his grandmother having ties to Lady Awaldanis’ family in Taniquetil.
“I think you would like the northlands, the mountains in white and silver would suit your fair complexion Lady Mithiel, think on my words. Say not your answer yet, I do not leave for some time. Just know, I would greatly like you to come with me to stay in Dorthonion” He gave a pause then quickly added “My sister as well for some seasons” Aegor would sit next Mithiel though his attention turned towards the bridge not far away. “Does the guard always come and go even at this hour?”
“Thank you, I had not expected to be out so long this evening without my cloak” Mithiel murmured softly to the golden lord that just grinned. “I should apologize for keeping you, I will not apologize though, for I have enjoyed your company Lady Mithiel” responding quickly as Mithiel’s eyes followed Aegor’s gaze to the bridge that leads towards the caves. “The guard comes and goes at all hours, they are ever vigilant. I am sure in the north your guardsmen are even more so” soft was the tone of Mithiel’s voice. “When do you return to the north?” Mithiel inquired then gave a pause. Feeling as if they were no longer alone at the stream.
