Adanedhel had woken up early that day, barely seeing the sun coming up from her slumber as he stretched and began to get ready for training. His father always made him train bright and early every morning. To be honest, it put a damper on things. Adanedhel was more than capable in doing things on his own now, but his father swore up and down that he was just not "ready." What in the name of Elebereth did he mean by that? Adan was seven-hundred for goodness sakes! How can he not be ready?
Either way, the young elf got into new robes and trousers as well as some boots on his feet. He quickly braided his hair away from his face, knowing it would certainly get him into trouble today. Today was supposed to be when his father teaches him more about sparring. Adanedhel could have rolled his eyes at that one. He was a child no more and he did not wish to be babied.
Though, someone always did and to be honest, he wouldn't have it any other way. His Naneth always tried to make him happy, despite it all. He usually would kiss her on the cheek before he left, but his father continued to shout. "Adanedhel! Hurry up!" Yes, Adar..
The sparring went as usual. His father tried to show him "new" things, only to make Adanedhel look like a fool. Adanedhel honestly wondered what it would be like if he finally knocked his Adar down. What would the older elf do once Adan knocked him face first into the dirt? Oh, but he wouldn't ever do it! Adanedhel was a gentle soul and even if he and his father weren't on the same page, he still loved him.
After a few hours of that nonsense, Adanedhel headed towards where his mother would usually be at this time. He came up behind her and hugged her. A Naneth! He let go and smiled at her. No matter how hard things were with his father, this woman brightened his day. I had another rough time with father.. When is he going to learn that I'm not an elfling anymore? He knocked me down again. Everyone who was there laughed at me. Perhaps I am not the warrior type.
And there was Adan, doubting himself. Usually that was the outcome of it all. His father would make him feel this way. Perhaps my place is somewhere else instead of behind weapons.
