It had certainly been a long day in the land of Rohan. With Ceolmund gone and with Adan trying to fulfill his promise, the elf for once was needing rest now more than ever. Of course he had been healed in the Healing Halls by the people and Runa, but some darkness still ran deep within him, touching his fëa. With that small little problem and with him doing his best to help Runa, it had left him feeling a little weak but the proud elf would never admit to such a thing.
Right now he was taking care of Runa’s little one, Yomie. Well, that was what Paega called him and Adan decided to do the same thing. He had been a fussy little thing, making Adan try many things. For once, he tried a song that his mother had once sung him when he were an elfling:
Elgara vallas, da'len
Melava somniar
Mala taren aravas
Ara ma'desen melar
Iras ma ghilas, da'len
Ara ma ne'dan ashir
Dirthara lothlenan'as
Bal emma mala dir
Tel'enfenim, da'len
Irassal ma ghilas
Ma garas mir renan
Ara ma'athlan vhenas
Ara ma'athlan vhenas.
Adan had patience and with that, the little bundle in his arms had finally fallen asleep as Adan continued to rock in the chair, finishing the song. Such a strange thing it was, holding a man-child in his arms. He never thought he would do such a thing. Though, wasn’t that why he was named Adanedhel? Man-elf? Wasn’t this part of his destined future? To help the Men of Arda?
Perhaps he was thinking too much into it. His mind tended to race through many thoughts before he would fall asleep. It soon washed over him like rain and suddenly he was in the world of dreams. He dreamed of finally being home, seeing his Naneth. He dreamed of also having Wyn there by his side. The elf dreamt of his father finally being proud of him and smiling with welcoming arms.
Yes, Adan finally was asleep, having peaceful dreams. His eyes looked a bit glazed over, looking at nothing in particular as he walked his world of dreams, holding Yomie in his arms securely.
** Words in English
Sun sets, little one
Time to dream.
Your mind journeys,
But I will hold you here.
Where will you go, little one,
Lost to me in sleep?
Seek truth in a forgotten land,
Deep within your heart.
Never fear, little one,
Wherever you shall go.
Follow my voice-
I will call you home.
I will call you home.
